Once a foreclosed AFC home in disrepair, Pleasant Lake Lodge South was completely remodeled and lovingly brought back to life — opening its doors in 2009 as a beautiful, thriving part of our community. What was once worn and forgotten is now a bright, cheerful, and inviting home where comfort, companionship, and care come together.
Pleasant Lake Lodge South is designed specifically for residents who need a higher level of daily assistance. Our compassionate team provides hands-on support with bathing, showering, dressing, and light transferring — ensuring each resident feels cared for, comfortable, and respected. With two caregivers on duty each day, we’re able to meet these needs attentively while still maintaining a warm, family-like atmosphere.
This single-level home is built for easy accessibility, with no stairs, wide hallways, and spacious doorways throughout. All rooms are semi-private, and residents share thoughtfully maintained bathrooms featuring handicap-accessible walk-in and wheel-in showers. Family-style meals are served three times a day, complemented by two snacks daily — all part of our seven-week rotating menu of home-cooked favorites.
The heart of the South home is its open, expansive great room — where the living room flows naturally into the dining area, encouraging connection and community. Just off this space is a bright four-season sunroom where families can visit comfortably, doctors can meet privately with residents, and puzzles are often in progress at the table.
Outside, a back concrete patio offers a peaceful view of local wildlife, while raised vegetable beds line the front walkway — a favorite spot for residents who enjoy helping tend the garden. Smooth concrete walkways lead to and from our designated smoking area affectionately called the “Butt Hut.”
To ensure safety and peace of mind, Pleasant Lake Lodge South is equipped with an exterior security system and non-recording cameras in all general living areas.
